The church should be a place where the lost are found (Luke 15: 1-7); a place where the unwanted are longed for (Matthew 28:19). We need to make the abused and left to die feel love like there’s never been (James 1:27). We need to realize that tattoos and piercing are a thing of beauty, a way of decorating ones temple (1 Corinthians 10:31). The church should be a place where a business executive can unite with the homeless (Galatians 3:28). We need to use our gifts and blessings to honor God (1 Corinthians 10:31). If we have money, give it to those who need it. If we have time, give it to those who need it. If we have skills, give it to those who need it. If we can listen and empathize, then we need to (Act 20:35; Proverbs 19:17; Matthew 6:1-4). No longer shall we pass over the man in need on the side of the road (Luke 10:30-37). We will be the ones who will show our enemies compassion and love; for God is love, and by showing the least of the world love, you have shown God His likeness in you. We will step out of our comfort zones, striving to touch who we never wanted to touch before. We will learn to love those we could not stand to be around before. We will live in the world, not in our impenetrable bubble (Matthew 25:31-46). We will learn to rely on God to keep us focused on Him while being in the world (Psalms 34:10). We will be willing to lose everything we value in order to save one soul (Luke 18:22; Luke 15:7). We are who we were called to be, it’s time to start acting like it (Genesis 1:27)! Jesus called us to follow Him, so will you (Matthew 4:19)?
